Archdiocesan Shrine of Taguig (Sta. Ana Church – Taguig)

July 17, 2013

If you’re a Taguig resident, you might want to consider holding your wedding at Sta. Ana Church in Sta. Ana, Taguig City.  For couples who wanted that old, historical feel of Nuestra Señora de Gracia or the older Intramuros Churches, you’d be glad to know that this is one of the oldest churches in Metro Manila. This was built by Augustinian friars back in 1587, as compared to Manila Cathedral’s founding date on 1571, and San Agustin’s construction on 1589.  It’s also neighbor to Sta. Ana Parochial School.

(Shutterbride note: This is not to be confused with Sta. Ana Church in Manila (established 1578 by the Franciscan Order), which I am more acquainted to since it was one of the churches I frequented as a child and student.  This church however, is my hubby’s church since he lives in Tuktukan and was included in our shortlist.)

Getting there is a no-brainer for those who know the place, about 2 minutes away from the City Hall and Gen. Luna St.   Non-Taguig guests who will attend your ceremony might have a little trouble finding this church, as it is a little off the main roads, so make sure your maps are clear (also try to set the time on your invite a little earlier, just to make sure :P).

Moderately sized parking space for you and your witnesses, so no problem here.  The church facade has its own brand of grandeur; the same with the tabernacle (which almost has the same design as Sta. Ana Church Manila and Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Taguig, hmmm).  Interiors are a little dark in a photographer’s perspective but this is just fine since most old stone churches are like that.

Here are their rates for a wedding ceremony:
P8,000 -ceremony, mass, carpet, soloist, organist, seminar, flowers on each pew, use of electricity, unity candle, tulle
P7,000 –  ceremony, mass, carpet, soloist, organist, seminar, flowers on each pew, use of electricity, unity candle (no tulle)
P6,000 – ceremony, mass, carpet, soloist, organist, seminar, flowers on front pew only, use of electricity, unity candle  (no tulle)
(P1,000 for downpayment)
(subject for updating, will have to check if rates are still current)

You can have beautiful pictorials at the facade (when most of your guests have gone and kiddie spectators are shooed away) and beside the church.

One issue you might need to consider are the limited choices for prep and reception venues near here.  One popular venue for our couples are Alta Guia (which is equally tricky to locate but a great option); Villa Monica-Pateros, Grand Villa-Pateros, and Makati Park are other choices.
